What is The Brotherhood?

One of the world's most respected fraternal organisations, offering friendship, mentorship, and mutual advancement for over 150 years.

A Unique Members' Organisation

The Brotherhood is a unique members' organisation that has thrived for over 150 years. Having no political or religious affiliations, we comprise members of all ages, races, religions, cultures and backgrounds.

We meet in our individual Lodges where we have ceremonial traditions which encourage us both to be more tolerant and respectful and actively to fulfil our civic and charitable responsibilities; we also make time to eat, drink and meet together, and form lifelong friendships.

You didn't find us by accident. You're here because you see more for your life — more growth, more success, more influence. Here, you gain access to a circle that multiplies your efforts.

Brotherhood Heritage

Where It All Began

The Brotherhood's roots lie in the traditions of the medieval stonemasons who built our great cathedrals and castles. Over the centuries, it evolved from a craft guild into a fraternal organisation embracing men from all professions and walks of life.

In the Enlightenment era, the organisation formalised its principles: religious tolerance, meritocracy, high standards of civility, and a commitment to personal and societal improvement. These ideals remain as relevant today as they were centuries ago.

Key Moments in Our History

1646

The Earliest Records

The earliest recorded making of a Freemason in England is documented, marking the beginning of speculative Freemasonry as distinct from operative stonemason guilds.

The Grand Lodge

The first Grand Lodge is established, creating a formal governance structure. This moment marks the birth of organised Freemasonry as we know it.

1813

The two rival Grand Lodges of England are united under the banner of a single fraternal organisation, forging a stronger and more unified brotherhood.

1868

Our own chapter is formally established, bringing the ancient traditions and values of Freemasonry to a new generation of members committed to loyalty, ambition, and mutual advancement.

2017

The Modern Era

The Brotherhood enters its modern chapter — embracing technology, global expansion, and a renewed commitment to reaching men who seek purpose, growth, and meaningful connection.

What We Stand For

For our members, there are four important values that help define their path through life. In today's world filled with uncertainty, these principles ring as true now as they have at any point in our history.

⚖️

Loyalty

Trust is the foundation of everything we build. Every brother upholds unwavering loyalty and operates with the highest integrity in all dealings. No brother stands alone — in challenges or negotiations, you have backing, guidance, experience, and strength in unity.

🎯

Ambition

We surround you with driven individuals who push you to think bigger, move smarter, and achieve more. Through mentorship, professional connections, and shared resources, you gain access to opportunities that would take years to build alone. We don't just talk about success — we study it, build it, and share the blueprint.

🤝

Unity

From its earliest days, The Brotherhood has united members across cultures and backgrounds. We promote an environment where diversity is valued, fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity and harmony. The connections you build here don't end — they expand into careers, businesses, and communities worldwide.

🌍

Service

Whether participating in events, fundraising for charitable causes, or volunteering for community organisations, service is at the very heart of The Brotherhood. Its importance and virtues are the first lesson a newly made member learns in our ceremonial traditions.

Lodge Meeting

What Happens at a Lodge Meeting?

A Lodge is the basic organisational unit of Freemasonry, typically meeting several times a year. There are Lodges in almost every town and city around the world.

During Lodge meetings, members practise age-old ceremonies that teach moral lessons using symbolism from the stonemason's craft. These ceremonies mark stages of progression through The Brotherhood.

Beyond ceremony, every meeting includes a social gathering — a chance to strengthen bonds, share a meal, and enjoy fellowship with men from all walks of life.

Your Path Through The Brotherhood

Members progress through three ceremonial degrees, each building on the lessons of the last. These degrees represent a journey of self-improvement, knowledge, and mastery.

I

Entered Apprentice

The first step. You are introduced to the principles of The Brotherhood and begin learning the foundational values of loyalty, integrity, and service. The initiation ceremony is the start of a transformative journey.

II

Fellow Craft

The second degree deepens your understanding. You explore the intellectual foundations of The Brotherhood, discovering the importance of knowledge, growth, and developing your potential.

III

Master Mason

The highest degree. As a Master Mason, you gain access to the full privileges and resources of The Brotherhood, including leadership roles, advanced mentorship, and the full network of global connections.

A Reputation That Carries Weight

When you represent this house, you represent ambition, discipline, and forward movement. That reputation carries weight — in boardrooms, in communities, and in every sphere of influence.

Many high-level leaders, politicians, and influential figures in the world today have acquired everything they have thanks to the power of fraternal organisations like ours. True power comes from leadership, and within our brotherhood, you'll develop the confidence, communication skills, and strategic mindset that separate leaders from followers.

Be part of something respected. When you carry our name, you represent a legacy of excellence and ambition that opens doors socially and professionally.
